ASEY “Happy Ones” Day

Saturday January 23rd from 11 am to 4 pm Georgian College in Owen Sound is hosting a FREE refugee showcase event. “ASEY” Day will be a fun day for local families to learn about the cultures, customs and experiences of newcomers to Canada. There will be foods from Eritrea, Ethiopia & Iraq and informational activities for everyone to enjoy. Community members that came to Canada as refugees years ago will be telling about their experiences as newcomers. ESL Corner offers valuable language, reading and listening lessons on a variety of topics including daily life, Canadian citizenship and culture and employment and education. There is a self-check feature that is useful for practicing.
