The Grey Bruce Health Unit is offering Rabies Vaccine Vouchers to residents that can’t afford to vaccinate their pets. In Ontario pet owners are legally required to keep dogs and cats vaccinated for rabies, a rare viral central nervous system infection that can be transferred to humans through the bite of an infected animal. Vaccination protects pets from infection with rabies and also helps protect family members if a pet is exposed to the virus. Call the Grey Bruce Health Unit at 519-376-9420 or 1-800-263-3456 to find out if you qualify for a low cost voucher.
