Safety Tips For A Long Weekend

Here are some safety tips as you prepare to enjoy the Victoria Day Long Weekend.

Obey the rules of the road if you plan to travel. Don’t drink and drive, obey the speed limit, wear a seat belt and take breaks to stretch your legs.

Wear you helmet when using a bicycle, an off road vehicle or a motorcycle and be sure the helmet is done up properly.

“Know before you go” Plan ahead by knowing your route, bringing a map as a backup plan to a GPS and pack snacks and toys or books for kids. Prepare ahead by checking the weather and road conditions before traveling.

Be safe on the water. The Ontario Parks Blog has some excellent information on ways to stay safe if you plan to go boating.
