Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns are a traditional food eaten on Easter Weekend or specifically on Good Friday in many countries.  There are lots of legends about the history of hot cross buns.  A common premise included in all of the stories is the “cross” of icing on the bun. Hot cross buns are lightly spiced and scattered with raisins or currants, then marked on top with a cross that’s either piped in icing or imprinted into the dough. This year Good Friday takes place on April 19, 2019 and Easter Sunday is April 21, 2019. Many businesses will be closed on these two days.
