The MacGregor Point 400 metre outdoor skating loop is open! The ice rink is situated within MacGregor Point Provincial Park located along the shores of Lake Huron in Port Elgin, Ontario. The park is open from 9am until 10pm daily. Other enjoyable outdoor winter activities offered at MacGregor Point are cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter camping! There is help available for people living in Grey and Bruce County that are having some difficulty paying their housing expenses. These funds are available through the Sustainable Housing Benefit in Grey County or Housing Stability Fund in Bruce County. These benefits are meant to help people living in the area to secure reasonable priced, stable housing. Funds are available through these programs, for residents who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. You may be eligible to receive assistance with these costs if you are a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant, if you reside in Grey or Bruce and if you have not received the benefit in the past 24 months. Skilled trades are jobs that are done with your hands such as construction, plumbing, and welding. The Owen Sound Georgian College Campus offers one and two-year full-time programs that train people to become skilled trades workers. The College is hosting a Trades Open House in Owen Sound on Saturday June 14th. College staff will be available at this event to answer questions and to provide information about local job opportunities in the skilled trades.
