IDIOMS

Idioms don’t mean exactly what the words say. An idiom is a spoken or written expression that means something different from its literal meaning. To understand an idiom you have to know it’s “hidden meaning.” Dennis Oliver has created a thorough list of idioms that can be found at Dave’s ESL.

Jumpstart Giving Kids a Sporting Chance

jumpstart-copy

The creators of the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program believe that every kid should have a chance to become involved in an extracurricular activity without lack of money being a factor in the failure of their hopes and dreams. The Jump Start Program permits kids 4-18 to choose a sport or recreational activity they are interested in and have the cost of their equipment, registration and transportation supported. You can sign up to donate or apply for a child to be assisted on the Jump Start Website. Applications for assistance must be submitted by June 1 for spring/summer programs.
