The South Grey Bruce Youth Literacy Council is a community based organization that supports youth literacy in the Grey Bruce region. The aim of the group, is to support students and their families to improve reading, writing, speaking and math skills. One of the services that the Council delivers is tutoring to school age children. Their trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with both parents and children. To acquire a tutor, students must be referred by a teacher or a parent. The tutors meet with students at locations that are convenient for the family such as schools, libraries, student’s homes or at their office, located in Hanover. To find out more about the organization check out their website at Youth Literacy Council.
